This is an old outdated deviation, new 1680x1050 version can be seen here : [link]

"Morrowind is one of my favorite games, it's one of these games wich life can be extended indefinitely thanks to a massive worldwide modding community.

It is difficult for someone who didn't play that game when it was first released to imagine the unbelievable graphical improvements (and let's not even talk about gameplay improvements) that were developed by the fans. From ultra high quality textures to remodeled bodies and visages, one of the most advanced improvement was the release of an utility called MGE (Morrowind Graphic Extender) by Timeslip.
The vanilla game being plagued by one of the worst 3D engine possible, even at the time of its release, the purpose of MGE is to allow your graphical card to actually improve the game in a way that was not possible before, from Oblivion like distant lands viewing to HDR effects.

Basically, despite its old age, Morrowind is a game that is becoming better as computers evolve. It will never be as pretty as the new generation of video games but it will remain one of the deepest and most interesting game ever created. Since I reinstalled it a few weeks ago and I was grabbed by the game once again, I decided to make a few screenshots so that people see what it looks like in 2008. All screenshots use multiple new textures and MGE.

Let's unleash the nostalgia !"

Since the adventure begins in the Bitter Coast, it seems appropriate to show the southwestern towns of Vvardenfell bathed by the morning light as my first screenshot.

(As a side note if these screenshots were to be taken in the original non modified game there would be nothing more than a grey fog as the original viewing distance would be so short than the game would not even be able to display the ground right below the character...)

That is just beautiful. The game never fails to impress. Hope to see move of your screens
Thank you.

Indeed the game still has a few more years in front of him before people forget about it, at least until we see an Elder Scrolls that will combine the best of Morrowind and Oblivion :)

I will try to submit new screenshots as time passes, depending on the locations that strike me as beautiful or interesting. But I'm sure I'll be slow at doing so. Whatever I do, I'm always unhappy with my shots so I always end up taking a gazillion before choosing one of them :(
Wow, I really need to go back to the game a take a look, this is fantastic. So far I like most of your screenshots, don't be so hard on yourself. Put them up anyways and let others decide if they are good or not, you can always take them down later. I'd like to see something from on top of red mountain looking down perhaps. Anything that lets you see iconic locations and the distances between them.
Thanks for the feedback. :)

I'll try to do a shot from the top of Red Mountain as soon as I'll have the Tamriel Rebuilt map installed so that there will be some land on the horizon instead of just water.
Great idea, I was just thinking how cool it would be with TR installed. I did an exterior or two for them, but it was a long time ago, no idea if they are using it or not.
Wow, that's just unbelievable. :O
How are you able to see that far? :S
Seriously thats just awesome xD
I can see the almost the entire world :O
It's just the miracle of combining Morrowind Graphic Extender and a new gen computer :)
I've had 4 files on the X-Box version of Morrowind and am excited to see the things people are doing with mods. :)
